The Firefighter Walk-A-Mile for Smith Valley Fire

In association with Chief Katie Mast of the Marion Rural Fire District, and Chief Haas of the Smith Valley Fire Department, we are putting together a sponsered event in order to raise money to replace valuable equipment lost in a senseless act of arson at the Smith Valley, Foy's Lake substation on July 2nd.

We want to engage the whole firefighting and law enforcement communites in the Flathead Valley in a friendly competition to see who can raise the most funds.

Where: Legends Stadium in Kalispell
When: Sunday July 31, 2016
Time: 3 PM to 9 PM

On July 2nd, Smith Valley emergency responders discovered a terrible loss to their fire department. Arson had destroyed two of their engines from the Foy's Lake substation as well as valuable gear such as AED equipment and firefighter turnout gear. Not only does this hurt the department itself, but it also hurts the entire community. Smith Valley often responds to Kalispell for mutual aid as well as the communities farther west like Marion. This fundraiser aims to raise $20,000 to help cover some of the cost of replacement. Please help by purchasing a t-shirt. All proceeds go to Smith Valley Fire and by buying a t-shirt you will be sponsoring individual firefighters to walk a mile in full turnout gear.Support your firefighters, support the flathead valley, and lets help those out that help the community out when it is in an emergency!!! Together we can make a difference. Together we can do great things!13590433_1023715734370992_3531729247300180538_njpg

All first responders are very important. This arson makes me sick. I'm sorry I cannot do more, but I hope this helps in some small way.
