About this campaign

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, firefighters from around the world have chosen to become part of the solution. Fort Detrick's IAFF Local F-151 is no different in that we are fighting for a cure as well. We believe in helping this national cause by assisting our local community and the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund. Our proceeds will be going dirtly to the Hurtz Breast Canc Fund which is a fund of Frederick Memorial Hospital. Firefighter's around the world don their pink attire in support of Breast Cancer Awareness during the month of October. Please consider fighting along side us as we give cancer the boot!
