As Eliza's parents, the two people who loved and will always love Eliza most in this world, we know this sentiment to be painfully true.
For those of you who never had the opportunity to physically meet Eliza, to truly witness the ways in which she embodied life, we still feel your love for her. We see how she has inspired not only us but also millions of people who got to "know" her through social media outlets. We know Eliza's life, albeit short but whole, has changed millions of peoples' perspectives on how to truly live life. To live for every moment with purpose, even if you don't know exactly what that elusive purpose is yet.
Eliza inspired millions of people. Eliza taught us how to appreciate every moment. Even the moments that hurt us. Because eventually those moments become memories. And memories become lessons on what is and isn't important in a life so undeniably fragile and finite.
Eliza may not physically be here anymore, but the memories she instilled will forever dance in our minds. Eliza's life, a tragic yet inspiring short story, is a life worth studying. A life to be remembered. Through us and through all of you.
The decision to create this new Eliza Merch was inspired by of all of you and the ripple effect of previous Eliza Merch. It was emotional to hear about all the conversations people were having with strangers based on the Eliza Merch you were wearing. Somehow, a simple piece of clothing inspired conversations about our daughter, Eliza. Conversations about life and even death. All of you are a huge part of the reason that Eliza's memory bursts out of the shadows and into the forefront of so many minds.
Eliza will always be with us. Maybe not physically, but in every other way imaginable.
