In Latin America and the Caribbean, children with liver diseases face a cruel reality everyday. Due to a lack of health-care professionals with specialized training and assistance, limited medical supplies, and low economical resources, hundreds of patients are currently not able to receive the life-changing transplant they are waiting for. Fundahigado America is committed to opening academic programs and empowering health professionals in areas where the option of liver transplantation currently does not exist. We have established our program in Venezuela, where Fundahigado Venezuela has become the only active liver transplantation program nowadays and we seek to replicate this succesful initiative all over Latin America and the Caribbean. A single liver transplantation in Venezuela costs $70,000 and this is where you can help. The donations received will be used to fund one of our pediatric patients on the waiting list. Each part of the money raised is designated to pay for a living donor liver transplant and any extra treatment needed to keep each of these children alive.
