Cancer Fundraiser for the Evans Family: Family Member Christy Evans

Christy was first diagnosed with Thyroid cancer as a teenager with a re-occurrence in 2006. In 2006 she had External Beam Radiation when her cancer became resistant to typical Thyroid I-131 radiation treatments. Now in 2017 she has been diagnosed with a new cancer in her lungs. (Carcinoid Tumor Cancer). On December 19th she will undergo lung surgery and have the lower lobe of her left lung removed. This t-shirt represents both cancers; the butterfly for Thyroid cancer and the zebra ribbon for the Carcinoid.

Christy and Johnny are also parents to a special needs child named Brody. In 2003 Brody was born at 1 lb and 5 ozs, 3 months premature at 25 weeks gestation, due to Christy having preeclampsia. Today Brody is 14 years old had has multiple special needs including: speech apraxia impediment, cognitive learning disability, autism and sensory processing disability. Brody is healthy and a very sweet and loving child. To know him, is to love him! He is truly a miracle and a blessing.
