About this campaign

The UAF Geophysical Institute’s Gee Wiz Heart Walk Team will be holding our annual GI Tract 5k race virtually again this year. 100% of the profits will be going to the American Heart Association. Please join us!

Your challenge is to run or walk a 5K any time between April 25 and May 16, and then post a selfie of yourself finishing the race, with the GI Tract 5k shirt if received in time, to our Facebook page, GI Tract 5k Fun Walk/Run. The selfie is totally optional!

The American Heart Association, founded in 1924 by a group of six cardiologists, has been fighting heart disease and stroke in an effort to save and improve lives. Heart disease is the No.1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Join us in helping to work towards the goal of a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke!
