About this campaign

This fundraiser is for the American Cancer Society in hopes that they will continue their research and their fight against cancer!

I decided to dedicate this fundraiser in honor and memory of my late father who passed away in 2024 of liver cancer. He was diagnosed in November of 2023 and passed away on March 17, 2024. The world knew him as Dr. Tanner, a compassionate and dedicated Urologist but to his family and close friends he was so much more than that. Cancer is a theif but it couldn’t steal my dad’s hope. When the doctor gave him the diagnosis, instead of getting emotional and upset, (as I would have) he sighed and said, “Alright, what do we need to do first?”. No matter what obstacle my dad faced throughout his life (and believe me, he faced his fair share), his faith in Jesus never faltered. If anything, it only grew stronger with each passing day. At one point, while in an ER exam room one night when he was sick, he started to witness to the ER nurse and invited them to church. He was suffering with cancer and in pain, yet he knew the first priority was sharing the gospel of his Lord and Savior above all else, no matter what. My dad’s go to scripture that he referenced my entire life was Romans 8:28. Whenever I was stressing about something trivial, I would go to him and my mom for advice and he’d go back to that verse every time. He believed that God called him to be a doctor. He believed that every piece of his life was all for His [God’s] purpose, the good, the bad and all the in-between. He instilled that in us so that now, anytime we face a hardship or difficult situation, I go back to that scripture and think of my dad.
