About this campaign

Following a two-year pause, Gotham Roller Derby is proud to have successfully hosted a full season of games at Lakeside in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. We are fortunate to have a supportive community that helped us keep rolling through some of the darkest days Gotham has encountered as a league and organization, and we are pleased to say nearly all of our games were sold out throughout 2022.

During the coming off-season, league staff and volunteers will be hard at work planning our 2023 programming, and hopeful to have the resources to extend our season next year. This is where you come in!

Support Gotham by buying one of these limited edition shirts – showcasing some of New York City’s beloved mascots – meant to showcase the tenacity, strength and resourcefulness of our league members. Choose from casual t-shirts, performance shirts, or zip-up hoodies in curve or unisex cuts. Art by our own Yaiza Rodríguez/Darth Yaider (@yai_tatts). Please note that while expected delivery is 12/23 there may be unforeseen delays around the holidays.

All proceeds will support Gotham Roller Derby's efforts to continue rolling in 2023, including providing capital for temporary skating spaces, operational necessities, adult and youth program support, and more. Gotham Roller Derby has operated without a dedicated practice space since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the league to cancel our season, and subsequently not renew our lease. The decision to forgo our physical footprint to conserve league resources during the pandemic was critical to keeping our organization viable and getting us back on track in 2022.

While our league was able to resume games and practices in New York City’s parks this season, the absence of a year-round practice space has severely reduced income from membership dues and games and left us with a very limited capacity to manage operational needs, including accepting and processing merch orders.

Through CustomInk, Gotham Roller Derby is excited to offer limited run drops of our merchandise for the remainder of the 2022 season. We’re pleased to be able to provide our community and fans in New York City and beyond more accessibility with regards to personal preferences.

Founded in 2003, Gotham Roller Derby is New York City’s only skater-operated roller derby league for cisgender, transgender and intersex women and gender non-conforming participants. The league is comprised of strong, diverse, and independent members.

As a 501c3 non-profit organization, Gotham is committed to fostering serious competition on a national and international level, developing amateur athletes for competition, and promoting the physical and mental strength and independent spirit of amateur athletes.
