Without the in-person Gunflint Trail Canoe Races and Mid-Trail Annual Quilt Raffle & Auction again this summer, our Gunflint Trail Fire Department (GTFD), a 501c3 non-profit, will again face a substantial financial shortfall. The GTFD is essential to the safety of residents and visitors alike, often rescuing people from our lakes and woods year-round and fighting wildfires that threaten this very special area on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
