About this campaign

Children's Hospitals rely heavily on holiday toy donations, but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these toy drives are not possible. Children typically receive a small toy/gift after bravely undergoing various medical procedures, surgeries, and during hospital stays. These toys are critical for making uncomfortable and, often, scary times more pleasant. This fundraiser will help the Be A Wonder Foundation directly support Child Life Services to purchase these toys at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and Boston Children's Hospital. The DiStefano boys directly benefit from these toy donations and feel it is only appropriate that we focus efforts here this holiday season. Thank you for your support!

The Be A Wonder Foundation
The DiStefano family was rocked when two of their young sons were diagnosed with rare diseases (primary immunodeficiency, possible bone marrow failure syndrome). The journey towards rare disease identification and treatment is stressful and challenging. Finding answers for final diagnoses and treatments is ongoing and time-consuming. However, the DiStefanos do not want this struggle to be the only path on their rare disease journey. Providing support to others who may also be navigating rare diseases is a way to turn some of their challenges into something positive.
The Be A Wonder Foundation's mission is targeted to help advance, achieve, and fund the needed support, research, and advocacy that is often overlooked. The collaborative and collective efforts of the foundation are inclusive of all rare diseases to support the rare disease community.

The Be A Wonder Foundation has non-profit status (501c3 approval) pending.
