About this campaign
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 when I was 28 weeks pregnant with my youngest son. They told me I had high grade ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and that if I had the double mastectomy I wouldn't need any chemo or radiation. I have been following up for 7 years until being discharged in January from follow up care by my oncologist. On March 25th I ended up at the ER after a chiropractic visit left me feeling like I had a broken rib. They did a CT scan which showed I had sprained ribs and metastatic disease in my lungs and bones with lymph node involvement, and a large pleural effusion in my right lung. The ER provider called my oncologist and he reviewed the CT scan and set me up to have biopsies and have my right lung drained. They sent the fluid and biopsies off for testing and it all came back positive for invasive metastatic breast cancer. We are preparing a plan to fight this stage IV cancer diagnosis and get some extra testing done. In the meantime we have decided to design these shirts to raise funds for our family to use for monthly bills, co-pays, and household expenses.
