About this campaign
The Firefly Effect is a charitable project being created in honor of my brother, Mike Hayes, who was killed in action in 2005.
This first t-shirt fundraiser will help raise seed money to formally launch The Firefly Effect and begin building the foundation for future giving. The heart of this mission is to carry Mike’s light forward by supporting girls’ opportunities through sports, leadership, education, and confidence-building.
Every shirt purchased helps us take the first real steps toward turning remembrance into action.

My husband served with Mike and Melissa
If I could've ever had an older brother, I'd have wanted him to be like Mike. He looked after all the girls he coached and was friends with the same way he looked after his younger sister, Melissa. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
