Henchmen!'s: I Donated and All I Got Was This Crummy T-Shirt, Fundraiser of Fun!

Our Story:

We (DFL Games) started working on Henchmen! in September of 2013. Originally the idea started as a joke between Daniel Lanza (Head of DFL Games and Lead Game Designer) and Lindsey Vanosky (Head of Marketing) as they discussed the TV series "Arrow" and how absurd it was. They joked about how the protagonist in the series was a terrible hero and was constantly killing off henchmen without a second thought and yet he would give their evil employers a second chance. They soon realized that this was the case with most hero-oriented shows, movies, and comic books,and decided to make a game around it - Henchmen!.

About The Game:

Henchmen! reminds us how important henchmen are when it comes to attaching lasers to sharks, stealing candy from children, and getting things done that we don’t want to get caught doing ourselves! Henchmen are the backbone of our society but they’re never appreciated and are often killed, strangled, beat up, or even shot off of high ledges...and this game won't be any different!

In this game, 3 to 6 players will work with or against each other to build up teams of (very expendable) henchmento try and complete jobs to earn as much ca$h as possible before the end of the game in order to please "Da Boss" but watch out! Taking on a job could alert the "Super Jerk" who won't think twice to kill half of everyone's henchmen! If 5 Super Jerks are revealed, the game will end and the player with the most ca$h will be declared the winner. Henchmen! is a fun, easy to learn take-that style card game that is fast paced and has great replay value. The art isstyled to be a hat-tip to famous television shows and movies of the 80's, 90's and todaythat truly emphasize the henchmen stereotype we all grew up loving.

Why We're Raising Money Through Booster and not Kickstarter:

We ran a Kickstarter for Henchmen! in October of last year but unfortunately we were unable to reach our funding goal. We attribute this to several factors...

1. Our original video was terrible.
2. We hadn't attended enough conventions.
3. We didn't have any professional reviews.

We're currently working on the new video and attending more conventions but we need your help to get out game in front of more reviewers so that when we do re-launch out Kickstarter, we'll actually reach our funding goal!

Why Booster? Booster is a newfun and exciting crowd funding platform that up until now has never been used to help support game designers (at least as far as we know) andwe're hoping that will work in our favor.
