About this campaign

Hālau Makana ‘Season 28’ represents 28 years of sharing and perpetuating the Polynesian culture here in the Bay Area. This line celebrates our values of family, service, and community and marks new beginnings.

The triangle featured represents the concept of ‘Lōkahi’, which means balance and harmony. The triangle is also a connection between the past, present, and future all of which are infinitely connected and cherished across all Polynesian cultures. Lastly, there are three triangles featured to represent three generations of culture keepers that have laid the path to where we stand today; my great-grandmother, my grandmother, and my mother.

We begin this new season under the direction of the fourth generation of culture keeping: Jade Makana Iulio.
