About this campaign

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the U.S. entering World War One. Approximately one million American horses and mules were sent to Europe for the war effort. They served, suffered, and died alongside their brave soldiers, and without their tremendous effort, the outcome of the war could have been very different. To honor and remember those fallen equine war heroes, Brooke USA's Horse Heroes campaign is raising money to support equine welfare programs around the world. We believe that the best way to honor yesterday's equine war heroes is to make life better for today's working equines.
