Hudson’s Heart Heroes

Raising money for this cause is important to our family in many ways. When Hudson was born, we learned he had multiple heart defects including a bicuspid aortic valve, aortic stenosis, atrial septal defect, coarctation of the aorta and a shortened mitral valve. We were shocked and terrified. We didn't know what his future would look like or even how long he would be with us. At just 8 days old, Hudson had his first surgery that saved his life. Over the years, we've spent countless hours at appointments and we've learned more about the heart than we ever expected to know. But we've also learned about resilience—because we've watched our son face challenges with courage and determination. Today, when people meet him, they don't see a kid with a heart condition. They see a confident, bright, active 9-year-old who loves life. That's why we're dedicated to helping raise funds for the American Heart Association.
