Hunting for a Cure for Chris

Chris was recently diagnosis with a rare leukemia, Large Granular Lymphocytic (LGL) Leukemia. The plan was to closely monitor his bloodwork and symptoms until treatment would need to be discussed, as the treatments available for this type of cancer can cause other cancers which led the to a watch and wait approach. Overall, Chris was doing well except for his fatigue.

In August 2016, Chris began to have some new symptoms that took him in to Hershey Medical Center. At that time they did a scope of his bile duct/ liver area and found that he had multiple tumors and was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). This uncommon cancer also started to spread into his lymph nodes. Since then it has been a roller-coaster for Chris and his family. Chris has undergone multiple procedures and unfortunately has had many complications, which has led to many hospital stays. Chris is hoping to get to a stable point to receive chemotherapy and radiation, as there is no cure for this cancer, unless the chemo can shrink the tumors and they can possibly be removed.

During this time, Zoe has had to be off work frequently, and of course Chris is unable to work. The next few months are going to be very taxing physically, emotionally, and financially. Chris has a long journey ahead of him. I’ve created this page to help raise money for my brother Chris with the extraordinary costly medical bills and expenses he will face over the next few months.
