About this campaign

Isanti County Sheriff's Office K9 Program has operated since 2003 starting with Nike. After Nike's retirement, and we added Kojak in 2012. In 2017, Raider has been added and is attending training now. These dogs have been a great asset to our department and have apprehended many criminals and found lost people. They assist the deputies and go into very dangerous situations risking their own lives. All of the costs for these dogs have been paid for from donations from those in our community. All of their vet bills, food, and equipment have all been from the generous donations from those that love these dogs as much as we do. These t-shirts are a way for the general public to contribute to this program and to show their support of these hard working dogs.

K9 officers protect their handlers. They have a keen sense of smell and can detect odors that humans cannot while searching for drugs, explosives, and for tracking people. They have an advantage of greater speed to stop fleeing or violent suspects.
