I am proud of the people that spoke out against the book banning attempt, especially the young people. I’m tired of Texas being as Molly Ivans called it Mississippi with good roads.
As an English teacher and a human being, the free flow of ideas is extremely important to me; as well as to our society as a whole.
I grew up queer in a censored religious community, and would have been lost without the books I read through those years. I appreciate your efforts, wish I could give more.
Banning diverse concepts and ideas, hiding them from our children, Is the antithesis of what we are supposed to stand for. Teach them to make good decisions based on all the information / views available, that's what learning is about.
