With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of our brother, Sgt Matthew Cook, who passed away on December 31, 2025. Matt was more than just a Trooper. He was the kind of friend everyone hopes to have standing beside them. He was a devoted father, significant other, loving son, brother, and nephew, and he never hesitated to show up for the people he loved. We hope to honor his life by making a meaningful impact in the lives of others, just as he did every day by putting everyone else before himself without hesitation.

Matt was my coach, best friend, and mentor. Battling depression as a first responder is a very real and powerful force. We have to stand together to continue to combat the dark times and places we sometimes go.
