Indy Convergence

The Indy Convergence started between three professional artists who crafted an artist residency program based in Indianapolis comprised of half local, half out-of-town artists who would “converge” on Indianapolis for two weeks. Over several years the residency developed an effective project development method fueled by an immersive, collaborative, process-driven environment allowing artists to experiment freely with no pressure to produce polished projects.

Today, Indy Convergence maintains its collaborative roots and has evolved into an arts and community-based nonprofit that serves the Near West neighborhoods of Indianapolis. Our programs include, A Rising Tide- a riverside festival developed with the Near West Livability task force and Reconnecting to Our Waterways White River committee; The Near West Rara- a neighborhood-wide celebration borrowed from Haitian culture that celebrates the diversity and culture in our neighborhood; Artist Residency- a two week intensive for professional artists to push their artistic boundaries in an immersive, collaborative environment.
