Loyola University Chicago Ignatian Service Immersion (ISI) program

This fundraiser will benefit students at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and Niehoff School of Nursing participating in the Ignatian Service Immersion program. This year, over 70 Loyola nursing, medical, and public health students, as well as physicians, nurses, chaplains, and staff members will take part in our Ignatian Service Immersion (ISI) program. The program includes service in Belize, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, and in Chicagoland. During each of these trips we partner with local non-profit organizations and health professionals to learn about the lived reality of the community, the administration of care to underserved communities, and health education, all while learning from and working with those who live in low-resource settings. We hope to return with experiences that will advance our lifelong practice of healthcare in the service of humanity. While we will learn much about health care and the social determinants of health, it is our greater goal to live in solidarity with those in need. In order to make these formative and transformative immersions a reality, we are asking for your support.
