About this campaign

Operation Wisdom is a non-profit organization that teaches students how to become conscientious global citizens. Within this context, students learn to appreciate the resources, the knowledge, and, perhaps most importantly, the rights that have been afforded to them simply by living in America. Once realized, students are empowered to use these gifts to help others around the world who are not so fortunate. This year, Operation Wisdom students are using their rights to stand for those who can't stand up for themselves. As part of this initiative, students have created a week-long campaign, the third annual "Week of Wisdom," starting on December 10 (Human Rights Day) and lasting until that Friday (December 15). During this week, students, educators, and community members will proudly wear their shirts each day as part of a t-shirt fast. In coordination with this week, students will also engage their community in various social media campaigns and fundraisers. All of the money raised, including 100% of the proceeds from these shirts, will be donated to Partners Relief and Development and their #SavetheRohingya fund.

The Rohingya are an ethnic minority living in the country of Myanmar. They have called this country home for centuries. Recently, however, the Myanmar government has begun, what the United Nations calls, a "textbook example of ethnic cleansing" against the Rohingya. As a result, over a half million Rohingya have been forced to flee for their lives and relocate to neighboring Bangladesh. Those that make it to Bangladesh find an environment not much better. Refused refugee status, the Rohingya are left to fend for themselves in a foreign land. Each month, thousands more leave the only place they have ever known and travel to a new land that lacks protection, education, healthcare, and basic rights. In response to this tragic situation, the world has come together to #SavetheRohingya. Operation Wisdom is joining the movement. We want everyone to know that we stand for the Rohingya. We invite you to stand with us to. #ForRohingyaWeStand
