Jack Sparrow

Imagine being on the streets for 8 plus years without a home and relying on kind people to offer you meals. Captain Jack Sparrow is a legend, so many folks in Danville, Illinois are familiar with the black matted Chow mix who trotted the streets daily, evading capture for so many years. But one day he was trapped by animal control, but only to escape back to the streets, shortly afterwards. Captain Jack Sparrow is known as Buddy to the woman who fed him every morning for 8 years but this amazing and willful dog may have never had a name, because there is little known about his history. Jack's future however, is looking a bit rough. Jack was hit by a car and he suffered a broken leg, this is how he is was caught. Jack also tested positive for Lymes and heartworm disease, plus he has arthritus. Jack is currently with us at HART and under the care of our veterinarians, who have splinted his broken leg, because they feel the stress of surgery may be too much for his age and condition. Jack has also started medication for all of his other issues. Jack has been cooperative and sweet, even wagging his tail when he sees us. We are hoping to give Jack a brighter tomorrow and allow him to live his senior years in comfort and style.Thank you!.
