All proceeds from this merchandise fundraiser will directly support Japan Day Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and friendship between the United States and Japan.

Your purchase will help fund future editions of the Japan Parade and Street Fair, ensuring that the beloved event continue to celebrate Japanese culture, strengthen community ties, and provide an engaging experience for participants of all ages.

Japan Day Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization led by a Board of Directors consisting of representatives from leading Japanese corporations.​

Japan Day Inc.’s Mission:​
-To celebrate and further promote the cultural exchange and friendship between the United States and Japan.​
-To show the local Japanese and Japanhttps://www.japanparadenyc.org/aboutese American community’s appreciation toward their home, New York City.​
-To strengthen ties and demonstrate solidarity within the local Japanese American community.

In 2007, Mr. Motoatsu Sakurai, then Ambassador and Consul General of Japan in New York, called on leading Japanese companies in New York to sponsor the creation of an event to promote the longstanding and valuable friendship between Japan and the United States.​

Founded under that aim, the first Japan Day @ Central Park was organized that year. Japan Day @ Central Park would become an annual event held every May by Japan Day Inc. until 2019.
​

After several cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event was reborn as the Japan Parade and Japan Street Fair in 2022.
