Jaxsons Got Guts!

Jaxson was born with a condition called gastroschisis, leaving his intestines exposed in utero. Because of that, all but 12 centimeters had to be removed, leaving him with "Short Bowel Syndrome." He is unable to digest nutrients and relies on TPN (IV nutrition) for nutrition. He is awaiting a multi-visceral transplant (Liver, pancreas, and small intestine.) Once called, he & his mom will have to go to pittsburgh where the transplant center is located. They will remain there for 6 months to a year, depending on how Jaxson recovers & assuming his body doesn't reject the organ.
