For those of you that don’t know our son Jesse was life watched from western plains medical center in Dodge City, Ks to Children’s Mercy hospital in Kansas City, Mo after being born when the doctor found a heart murmur. Once in KC doctors diagnosed Jesse with Pulmonary Atresia with Intact Ventrical Saptum. It is a form of heart disease in which the pulmonary valve does not form properly. It is present from birth (congenital heart disease). The pulmonary valve is an opening on the right side of the heart that regulates blood flow from the right ventricle (right side pumping chamber) to the lungs. In pulmonary atresia, the fused valve leaflets form a solid sheet of tissue where the valve opening should be. This blocks normal blood flow to the lung. Because of this defect, blood from the right side of the heart cannot go to the lungs to pick up oxygen. He is set to have 3 surgeries before he turns a 1 1/2 years old, as well as possible heart transplant at some point in his life.. Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the USA and we want our son to have the best help we can get him. Anything helps us at this point cause we are way behind on bills both medical and non medical. We appreciate anyone who is willing to help us out and thank you in advance.
