About this campaign

Two cousins, Karina and Britta, will be embarking on a 3-week, 1600-mile journey from Minnesota to Maine to raise money for the World Bicycle Relief. WBR is a non-profit organization that partners with communities in rural and developing communities and provides them with bikes to improve their transportation to various opportunities whether it be for education, economic or health care!

Not only will this journey be for the World Bicycle Relief and spread the power and love of bicycles, but it will also serve as a tribute to our late grandfather, Dr. Richard Schindler. In August of 2011, our grandpa and four other gentlemen undertook the full 3000 mile journey from Portland, Oregon to Portland Maine as they did their own fundraising for the Hormel Institute of Austin. Britta will be graduating from the University of Minnesota Duluth and Karina is finishing up her third year at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. As two non-avid bikers, we embark on this journey to empower ourselves but more importantly to empower others and the individuals who will receive these bikes. We hope to be catalysts of change for the biking community and re-center the biking community to what riding truly means.
