About this campaign

The most urgent need for these families separated at our borders is legal assistance. The parents face a confusing process ahead with no government provided legal assistance (just last month, prior to these brutal separations, our government eliminated a federal fund providing legal assistance to immigrants). Once they are processed, they face more legal hurdles in trying to find and reunite with their children. Regardless of what one might believe about immigration policy, let's come together to reunite these families.

We have all seen the images and heard the horror of families being pulled apart. Did you know there are children from the southern borders who have been transported to juvenile detention centers in Virginia and Maryland? CAIR, Capital Area Immigrants Rights coalition, is working to ensure adequate care and representation for those children. CAIR is the only organization in all of Maryland and Virginia whose purpose is to assist immigrants; they are critical to the welfare of these children. Funds are badly needed to increase capacity to provide legal assistance and the costs of reunification. Won’t you help?
