About this campaign

On November 13, 2016 our family and friends are coming out for the National Kidney Foundation's Kidney Walk - in honor of the 10th year anniversary of Tommy - Stephanie's kidney! All proceeds from the sale of these T-shirts will go to the National Kidney Foundation.

At about 1:00 am on November 14, 2006, I received a phone call from my best friend. My heart sunk, because I knew if she was calling me at that time something was wrong. You see, she had been on dialysis for several years, had numerous surgeries and issues with her port, and the road was quite rough. Nervously, I answered the phone. In a low voice she said: "Jackie, I'm in the hospital. They have a kidney for me." And folks it was no ordinary kidney. It was a baby's kidney. My best friend's small frame was the perfect home -a baby kidney for an adult. Very rare and unheard of, the combination of the doctors and medications have given Stephanie 10 great years. To commemorate this little fighter, this baby that lost life to give Stephanie a new one, we named her kidney Tommy.
Team Tommy will walk in support of the continued research and advancements in medicine, to help people with kidney disease, like Stephanie, continue to live 10,20, more years.
