About this campaign
Imagine growing up in an area that was lush with land and natural resources but you still lacked the basic necessities such as clean drinking water, proper shelter, sanitary indoor bathrooms and nor even a kitchen to prepare and consume nice hot meals?
Unfortunately this is the current reality for over 85,000 residents in a remote rural area named Bayone (Creole) or Bayonnais (French). This hilly landscape sits in the Artibonite Department near Gonaives in Northwest Haiti. The area has been further damaged as a result of deforestation and suffers from dangerous mudslides when there is heavy rains.
Bayone lacks roads, access to potable and drinking water, sufficient electricity, street lighting, work and sufficient food growth. These farmers cannot count on their harvests to feed their families nor trade to provide income.
But we can help Bayone to become self-sufficient again. Encourage the public sector to do its share in building roads, help introduce private investment in this area for commercial farming, animal farming and housing development among the Haitian diaspora.
Through the work and advocacy of the Konbit Bayone, we now have a vehicle of Hope for the residents and future generations of Bayone. Help Konbit Bayone to reach its potential to help the people of Bayone!
Konbit Bayone has embarked on a journey to save lives in Bayone Haiti. To help eradicate the impoverished living conditions in Bayone and promote sustainability. Let us begin our efforts in providing potable water to over 85,000 residents of this remote rural area in Northwest Haiti. Hence this our first Membership Drive for the Clean Water Project.
Konbit Bayone Corporation is an action-oriented not-for profit organization whose mission is:
"To increase charitable awareness and outreach for the impoverished and affected populations in Bayone area of Artibonite, Haiti with its diaspora, members and supporters here in the U.S. & beyond."
Konbit Bayone is a membership organization of past and present residents of Bayone, their friends, family members and co-workers, as well as generous supporters for the cause. We are the engine for the working group in Haiti and we will provide them with all the tools and capital necessary for their success!
