About this campaign
South Korea has the world’s 14th largest economy, it is not a poor country; it is home to global brands such as Samsung, Hyundai, Kia, LG, SK, and Daewoo. But, incongruously, this is also a country where an estimated 2.5 million dogs and thousands of cats are slaughtered and eaten each year.
Forced to endure deprivation and unimaginable torture, from the moment they are born until the day they are slaughtered, dogs are imprisoned in cramped, filthy, raised cages all their lives, with no protection from extreme weather.hey get no water, exercise, companionship or medical care, and they lie or stand on wire caging - they never get to feel the ground beneath their feet - and their eardrums are often burst to deter barking.
In broad daylight, often in front ofther living dogs, these creatures are slaughtered in painful and inhumane ways: they are electrocuted, hanged, beaten, have their throats slashed, or are boiled or burnt to death. This is a profit-driven, tax-free, unregulated industry that aggressively promotes the myth that eating dogs enhances male virility and stamina. And, consumption peaks during the hottest days of summer (Boknal).
This eating of companion animals has no place in the modern world, it must be stopped, and we are campaigning vigorously to bring it to an end.
100% of the funds raised from the sale of these t-shirts will be donated to the documentary project being made by the Korea Observer.

I believe that dogs are domesticated animals and man's best friend and should be treated as such. The dog festival is an ancient custom that should be obsolete by now. Many of these dogs suffer a horrific, violent inhumane death filled with pain.
I will keep supporting until it ends. It is just disgustingly wrong and barbaric and needs to stop.
We are personal friends of Nami KIM and we do know how hard and honestly she works to protect and improve dog's conditions in Korea. We will always be happy to support her as much as we can.
The dog and cat meat trade must stop. We know in certain countries culture is deep rooted but when culture is despicable causing fear , suffering , bodily harm and death to another then it's time these cultures are extinct and be human, be civilized
Dogs and cats deserve our compassion. We have to love them and protect them. Eating them or any other animal is a crime.
