About this campaign

Registered KPETS volunteers and their companion animals promote well-being and offer encouragement in our communities by sharing the power and benefits of human-animal interactions.
Serving local communities in health-related facilities, social agencies, special-needs programs, schools, libraries, retirement communities and hospices, KPETS teams readily visit wherever the human/animal connection may be beneficial. KPETS services are free of charge.
Prior to Covid, KPETS has grown into an organization with more than 400 volunteer teams, providing over 10,000 hours of animal assisted therapy to over 300 facilities every year. We are gradually returning to visits and look forward to doing more as safey permits!

Here is just one sample of what KPETS visits mean to those we visit, their family AND our volunteers.. . .

I wanted to share a quick story with you. Beatrice from the Mennonite Home passed away and I went to her viewing yesterday. She is the woman in the picture we use with my golden, Lexi. I had brought a wallet size picture with me to see if I could put it in her casket. Over the years I had gotten to know her family. When I was hugging her son next to the casket I saw the table with the flowers and sitting in the center of the flowers was an 8 x 12 framed picture just like the one I was holding in my hand. At that moment I was hit with such a flood of emotions! Sadness, gratitude, surprise, love, but must of all was JOY! Joy for ever having Lexi in my life, joy for the love she brought Beatrice but most of all JOY for . . .KPETS in my life, I will never be able to completely explain what a proud and profound moment that was for me yesterday! To realize the impact we had on Beatrice's life and hearing the wonderful stories from her family about how she talked about Lexi and I was almost overwhelming,
