About this campaign

All funds raised by this fundraiser will go directly to helping support victims of the Lahaina wildfire via the Napili Noho community based recovery hub and the Lahaina Community Land Trust. www.napilinoho.com

This design was sketched out by Carolyn Auweloa and her brother Kaipo Kekona on the back of a cardboard box during the first couple weeks after the fire. Keliko Hurley of Ka Wai Ola embraced the concept and helped them bring their vision into the digital world.
MANU - in honor of the friends and family we lost in Lahaina.
ULU - an ulu seedling representing new life and growth that will come from this. The ulu is an important symbol for Lahaina and is a reflection of Lahaina's history as Ka Malu Ulu O Lele.
PU'U PA'UPA'U - the pu'u that resides above Maui, most famous for the L that is on it. Pu'u Pa'upa'u has long been and continues to watch over Lahaina.
PEWA - This logo is in the shape of a pewa, which is a wedge/patch used for bending bowls and boards. An appropriate shape as the various aspects of the community come together to bind, to mend, to hold and restore Lahaina.
