About this campaign

We're running this fundraiser specifically to buy NEW bikes for Downriver Foster Closet's Bike Drive May 25, 2024. We have several used bikes that we have cleaned and fixed to like new condition, but we'd really like to donate a couple brand new mountain bikes. Luki Bike Adventures, a Detroit-based 501(c)(3) organization, believes that a ride through the woods with friends may be all we need to rebuild our connections to the land, and each other. Our vision is to introduce Foster kids and Black, Latino, and Native American youth to the outdoors through mountain biking. Our mission encompasses three key goals: (1) equipping kids with bike repair skills and cycling proficiency, (2) organizing events for them to explore trails typically inaccessible to them, and (3) fostering stewardship, appreciation, and decolonization of outdoor spaces.

We believe that bicycles can be vehicles of change, making people and communities healthier, happier and more connected.
