About this campaign

Mamatoto Village is proud to launch “Maternal Health is Everyone’s Business,” a bold, citywide campaign that reframes maternal health from a private, clinical concern into a shared community responsibility. Because when Black mothers thrive, our entire community thrives. Every dollar raised helps us build a future where Black women, birthing people, and their families are seen, heard, and supported before, during, and after pregnancy.

Mamatoto Village is a D.C.-based nonprofit committed to improving maternal health outcomes and supporting women, birthing people, and their families throughout their perinatal and postpartum journeys. Mamatoto offers a variety of services, including perinatal home visiting, community doula care, childbirth education, lactation support, perinatal mental health services, and workforce development for future and current maternal health professionals. We also advocate for systemic change by amplifying the voices of Black mothers through advocacy and community engagement, all driven by a mission to reduce health disparities and foster a more justice-centered maternal health care landscape.
