Dear friends and family
Thank you for your support and prayers this past year. Because you are friends and family you know and have been right along with us, This has been for sure a very difficult year that we were catapulted into at this very time of 2012. After what I like to call stupid storm sandy we all were unfortunately ushered into another horrible storm. The passing of our wife, mom, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, mentor & friend.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, (2 Corinthians 1:3)
When Maria was in her early 20s, she loved to run the Seaford 5K Hot Chocolate Run. When I first met her, over 20 yrs ago, she was training for the Seaford 5K. In 2011 she picked up that passion again, and we all ran the race together. Maria decided that every year she wanted to do it and encouraged us all to do it with her. We collectively agreed that this was going to be an annual event for our family.
We are planning to do the the "Seaford hot chocolate run" what we like to call: "Mariaelena Annual 5K Hot Chocolate Run" again this year on Saturday December 7th 2013 @ 9am with the Seaford Wellness Council.
The idea is to run the "Seaford 5k hot chocolate race" as a fund raiser event for Mariaelena's Gift.
In case you are not familiar, missions is something that Maria had a great passion for, the Brandmaier family set up Mariaelena's gift as her legacy to support missions. You can go to www.mariaelenasgift.com to learn more.
I am sending this letter to ask you to be a part of a fundraising event to support mariaelenasgift
You can be involved in a few different ways:
1st and most important is that you can please pray for the family. Especially at this time.
2nd to possibly run with us if you can and would like to. We would love that. You would have to go to the Seaford Wellness Council to register for the race. There is no mention of this fundraiser at their site. Or at the race. They are just kindly allowing us to run and raise funds as a separate entity. You will have to pay to register.
3rd if you would; donating to the fund through the Official Website, would be greatly appreciated.
My vision is to have this event bring in the largest sum of funds for mariaelenasgift thus far.
As much as this 5k event was near and dear to Maria's heart. So too is this fund near and dear to the hearts of Chris, Laura Jackie, J.C and the rest of the Brandmaier, Fernandez family. So let's make this happen for her!
