About this campaign

Our focus is simply to continue the training and mentoring of soldiers, identifying potential candidates for the SAMC, support our military and civilian communities through volunteering, fundraising and charitable events. Below are some supported events in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC areas:

Annual MDW SAMC Military High School Senior Scholarship Contest Multiple 5K Runs on Military installations and in the surrounding areas Complete volunteer service projects within the DC, MD and VA area Honor veterans by supporting Honor Flights and escorting Veterans around the National Capital Annual MDW SAMC Golf Tournament (Fundraiser towards EHE Cancer Research) Conduct quarterly induction ceremonies for new members to be recognized in front of the most senior military leadership in the MDW area Annually assist in Wreaths Across America / Wreaths Across Aerica Cleanup Participate in fundraising events to earn money to support club functions and support our local volunteer activities

The Military District of Washington (MDW) Sergeant Audie Murphy Club (SAMC) is an elite non-profit organization of Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) whose demonstrated performance and inherent leadership qualities and abilities that were characterized by those of Medal of Honor recipient Major Audie Leon Murphy, the most decorated soldier in American history. Members are recommended by their leadership and be selected through performance testing by senior enlisted leadership. Only two percent of NCOs in the United States Army make it to the final testing phase and are inducted into this club. The MDW SAMC is not a not affiliated nor a representative of the Department of Defense.
