Megs Strong

In July 2019, Megan was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Her prognosis is very good and she is half way done her chemo treatment. In September 2019, Megan was advised that she will need to have radiation as well (which we didn’t believe she would need at the beginning of her diagnosis). At the age of 6, Megan was also diagnosed with hearing loss, to which she now wears hearing aids and has a special device used during school to help her hear in the classroom. Megan is always upbeat and smiling. She has never complained about either diagnosis and tackles each new day with charisma and optimism. Despite her cancer diagnosis, Megan has continued to do all the normal activities teenagers do, especially during summer vacation, such as camping, swimming, beach days, and just hanging-out with family and friends. She is not able to play her beloved sports, but continues to go practices and helps any way she can. She is determined to stay in school and maintain her A average, as she always has. She is a strong young woman and an inspiration to all that know and meet her.

Megan played soccer for Bellmawr Tigers during 2008 - 2014, then softball during 2013 - 2014. She was a Bell Oaks Cheerleader during 2013 - 2014, then softball in 2016. Megan attended Fabulous Feet during 2013 - 2016. She was a Girl Scout from 2010 - 2015. Megan is currently a Junior at Triton High School where she was a cheerleader in 2017 as well as played both softball and field hockey from 2017 -2018, then athletic trainer from 2018 - current.

Both Michael & Sissy continue to work full time, in-between Megan’s treatments and hospital visits. We would like to relieve a fraction of their burdens during this difficult road they have found themselves on and will continue to travel for the next year, at the minimum. Family and friends would like to assist in medical bills and other financial responsibilities.
