About this campaign

‘I BELIEVE’ is designed to empower boys of all ages to consider not what boys field hockey in America is, but rather, what it could become! With your support, we will be able to compete in the 2014 Cal Cup games and increase awareness of boys field hockey in the USA.

‘I BELIEVE’ was created for boys in the USA who dream of being competitive in the game of field hockey. Boys whose ultimate goal is to be selected for the USA Men’s National Field Hockey Team. Only second to soccer in world popularity, field hockey is played by more men than women. Yet, headlines about boys in the USA who want to play field hockey continue to read ‘boy shut out’, ‘boy kicked off’ or ‘boy faces uphill battle’.

Today, ‘I BELIEVE’ is an effort to support a group of young men, aged 12-21, who have joined together, from Maine to North Carolina, to train and compete at the national level in the 2014 California Cup International Field Hockey Tournament. These boys are East Coast High Performance.

Tomorrow, ‘I BELIEVE’ will continue to support growing awareness of the young men serving as the leaders and role models who are blazing the path and taking the difficult steps necessary to build acceptance of boys’ field hockey in the USA.

‘I BELIEVE’ is designed to empower boys of all ages to consider not what boys field hockey in America is, but rather what it could become!

All funds from this campaign are donated directly to the team to help with equipment, room & board, and travel expenses .

Thank you for your support and, please, BELIEVE!

Love this sport and what it has done for my son, Ridge. Played on EC juniors for years and is now umpiring all over the place. We are huge supporters of boys field hockey! Play hard boys and good luck to you all!

Let's ECHP! I have been a member of ECHP since I was 13 when it first started. All the players and parents are amazing and extremely supportive. It is huge honor to represent mens field on the EC, but on a national level as well. Go USA!

I think boys should be allowed to play field hockey if they choose. Why would we deny them the opportunity when advocated so hard for our daughters with Title IX? Good luck with your campaign!

It had been a wonderful experience. East Coast has brought his game to a higher level. The boys & parents are all nice. Through the East Coast Team Julius has been able to go to San Diego in the past as well as Vancouver to play mens teams.
