About this campaign

To provide ocular melanoma awareness and funding for life saving treatments for those who suffer from ocular melanoma and other orphan diseases.

I was diagnosed in December 2013 and had plaque radiation surgery in January 2014. I am currently in a holding pattern until my follow-up in May 2014 to see if it was successful. I have come to know a lot of individuals in my support group and heard numerous stories about the lack of funding and treatments for Ocular Melanoma. I have made it my life's mission now to help raise money and awareness to find a cure for this devastating cancer. Will you help me?

Ocular melanoma is a rare eye cancer that develops in the melanocytes of the eye’s choroid, iris or ciliary body. While the initial tumor is nearly always treatable, about 50% of patients will develop fatal metastases.

Currently, there is no cure for metastatic ocular melanoma. However, promising evidence exists that early detection, genetic analysis, targeted treatment, and integrative therapy may guarantee better results.
