Lift Me Up: Babywearing to Thrive Fundraiser

Lift Me Up: Babywearing to Thrive is a non-profit organization created by three mamas who wish to share the overall benefits and practicality of babywearing.  Our mission is to serve families who have children with special needs.  For these families, babywearing is a unique tool that can benefit both the child and the caregiver.

There are many benefits to wearing a child in an ergonomic carrier.  Babywearing provides correct physical alignment for hip and spine development, aides in respiration, and improves vestibular system activation and body awareness due to continual motion of the caregiver.  It also allows for positioning free of pressure on the child's soft cranium.  Babywearing provides appropriate positioning for socialization and communicative cues while also providing fulfillment of a child's need for touch.

Children with plagiocephaly, torticollis, spina bifida, Down Syndrome, and autism, among many other diagnoses, can all greatly benefit from babywearing.  Although Lift Me Up officially launched just one month ago, we have already heard wonderful stories from our recipients about how their lives have improved with the carriers we have provided for them.
