About this campaign

Help Project Homewood raise enough money to send at least 1 child to EDP for an entire year! Those of us that have experienced EDP know how special it truly is. If you would like to know more, please visit our website http://www.projecthomewood.org/. Be the difference!

Project Homewood was founded in 2013 to help support the Extended Day Programs (EDP), as well as the numerous families in Homewood. We believe that EDP is such a beneficial program for children to experience, and that it can give them a jump start on success. We believe it because we've seen it. Our Board of Directors have a combined experience of over 50 years in the Extended Day Programs, and we have witnessed the positive effects that EDP can bestow a child too many times to count. We created the Sandra Vella Scholarship in honor of EDP's creator, Sandra Vella. She served for over 27 years in the Homewood City Schools system running the Extended Day Programs at Edgewood, Hall-Kent, and Shades Cahaba Elementary Schools. The Sandra Vella Scholarship will ensure that families throughout Homewood have the opportunity to allow their children to experience and attend EDP, no matter their financial situation. So please, help us make a visible difference in our community. Help us make a difference in the life of a family in need.

As a single parent EDP was there for my daughter and I. Josephine loved EDP and her counselors! In your honor Ms. Bella!

I attended EDP at Edgewood while I was there. It was a great convenience for my parents and I have a lot of fond memories of those afternoons. I hope my contribution provides this experience for another child and family.
