About this campaign

Peace Corps Volunteers are making positive change all over the world. You can helpby purchasing a t-shirt to support their work. All funds raised will go to support Peace Corps Partnership projects.

The Atlanta Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (AARPCV) group, founded in 1983, is committed to positive social action, global education, and community service. AARPCV keeps currently serving volunteers and their host communities close at heart. Through Peace Corps Partnership grants, we have donated a total of $14,036.60to eight different Volunteer projects in the first three quarters of 2014 andare on track to donate $20,000 to Peace Corps Partnership grants by the end of the calendar year.

In February, we donated the final $3,100 towards a maternity house construction project led by a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo. The project, which is now finished, provides a safe place to stay adjacent to the health clinic for women who are in their last month of pregnancy. Staying in this shelter gives the women immediate access to a midwife, as well as alleviates the need to travel over challenging terrain during labor. We are proud to announce that the first baby was born there in July!
We funded seven projects in the second and third quarters, including this one from a Missouri Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Ethiopia. Other projects include a physical education facility in Cambodia, school water pumps in Cameroon and Tanzania, a bridge in Tanzania, an environmentalcleanup in Burkina Faso, and a grain repository in Senegal. So far, AARPCV has donateda total of $14,036.60 Peace Corps Partnership grants this year, and our goal is $20K by the end of December.
