About this campaign

Show your support for "propelling the SS United States forward" into her new life with the second, limited-edition premium t-shirt to feature a David Macaulay sketch of one of the propellers from America's Flagship!

Both the Hanes 50/50-blend shirt and the American Apparel jersey t-shirt are printed in the USA. The American Apparel t-shirt option is also manufactured in the USA and does have a slim fit. Size up by 1 or 2 sizes for best comfort and consult the sizing guide here.

This gorgeous shirt features renowned author and artist David Macaulay's sketch inspired by Jim Pollin's donation to save one of Big U's 5-bladed propellers. This image was used extensively in the SS United States Conservancy's September "Propelled by Champions" Campaign.

In service from 1952 through 1969, the luxury ocean liner SS United States was built with American technological innovation, and was capable of transporting 14,000 troops more than 10,000 miles without refueling. On her maiden voyage, she smashed the transatlantic speed record -- a record she holds to this day -- using only 2/3 of her power.

The SS United States Conservancy purchased her in 2011, saving her from the scrapyard, and is working tirelessly to facilitate her redevelopment into a mixed-use museum and development complex. Help us to spread the word about this unique historic vessel and ensure that America's Flagship continues to inspire for generations to come.

From my first trip on a cruise ship (SS Lurline 1954) I have loved to cruise. My partner and I have been on some beautiful ships and look forward to a great time on Oceana in April.

I sailed on her in 1956! It was a memorable trip.

I've followed this ship since I was a kid. I've volunteered with the conservancy and helped to raise awareness of her story and significance. This is just a bump in the road in the grand scheme of things. Looking forward to her restoration.
