About this campaign

Show your support for our cause and help raise awareness. Purchase and wear your custom AFE Foundation T-Shirt for AFE Awareness Day, March 27th. Don't forget to share with family and friends!

It is estimated that an amniotic fluid embolism (AFE) occurs 1 in 40,000 births. At least 40% percent of mothers and/or their babies will not survive. Of those that survive, many will suffer lifelong physical and emotional complications.

The AFE Foundation was founded in 2008 to support the unique needs of families affected or devastatedby AFE with the primary goal to spur clinical research into this poorly understood birth complication.

AFE results in many outcomes, families left without a mother and/or baby, mothers who lost their babies, survivors who are left in a persistent vegetative state, and survivors who suffer physical and emotional scars. AFE knows no bias and affects women of any ethnicity, age, education or socio-economic status.

We hope this shirt will unite all of those affected by AFE and spark conversations to raise awareness of the condition and allow you to share your unique story or connection to our cause. Please join us in wearing it on March 27th, AFE Awareness Day.

On June 8, 2012, I suffered from an AFE when I gave birth to my twin boys. I will forever be grateful to the doctors and nurses who saved my life. Miranda has developed a wonderful organization that helps support families and brings awareness to AFE.
