Founded in December of 2012 by Artistic Director Marianne Bell, the mission of the Hot Foot Honeys is to promoting, preserving, and performing rhythm tap dance in Memphis and the mid-south. Over the past two years, the Honeys have performed at various community venues and dance concerts in Memphis, including their firstshow at Evergreen Theatre in April of 2014 entitled, "HeArt & Sole: A hythm Revue or Tap Lover." Now witheight dancer, the tap copany is embking uon its seconevening-length show, "Song& Dance: A Tap Tribute to Great Voices" to be held at Evergreen Theatre on May 8, 9 and 10, 2015.Choreographers Marianne Bell, Tamara Prince-Parrish, Al Bonner, Thea Wilkens-Reed, and Jaukeem Balcom will presentenergetic, new worksto jazz, R & B, rock, and hip hop, andguest artists Artistik Approach and Deneka Lewis will thrill the audiences with their unique vocal stylings. Besides raising fundsto pay rehearsal spacerent and thetechnical crew (lighting, sound, stage manager, etc.), the Hot Foot Honeys need fundsto payfor renting Evergreen Theatre during the week before the show for technical anddress rehearsalson May 4-7, plus the shows on May 8-10.
