Team Erica for The Granted Wish Foundation

In June 2014, Erica had risky brain surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor. She then suffered from many physical challenges, including the inability to swallow, loss of hearing, loss of balance, and temporary facial paralysis on the left side before undergoing radiation and chemo. Erica wished to meet Taylor Swift, and thanks to the Granted Wish Foundation, her dream came true! Erica and her sister, Hannah, went to Taylor's house in Rhode Island, where they listened to her newest album before it was released. They also spent time talking to Taylor, dancing with her, and took pictures with her! While they were having a fantastic time meeting Taylor Swift, Erica and Hannah's parents enjoyed a romantic dinner at a five star resort! Taylor was genuinely happy to meet the girls and was incredibly friendly and sweet. Erica's whole family wants to thank the Granted Wish Foundation for helping the family forget about Erica's illness for a few hours and have a once in a lifetime opportunity.
We feel very privileged to have our wish granted, and we want to help as many other people who are suffering from physical disabilities have their wish granted, too! The Granted Wish Foundation allows young adults up to the age of 25 to request a wish, whereas many other wish-granting foundations only allow patients under the age of 18 to request a wish.
