About this campaign

Reece is 13 years old and was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia in February 2015.  Aplastic Anemiais a rare and serious illness.  It  is otherwise known as Bone Marrow Failure. Aplastic Anemia affects the white blood cells, red blood cells and platlet formation in the body. This places Reece at risk for life threatening bleeding and infection, and leaves him feeling fatigued.  Our goal is to raise awareness of this rare illness for our family and friends, show our support for Reece  and also help off set the medical expenses that we have encountered as a result of his diagnosis.

sonJPGReece is a straight A student and was active in basketball, baseball,  and had a major role in his upcoming school play before he was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia.  Reece's Illness came on out of no where, almost overnight.  He was becoming fatigued while playing basketball easily , his skin became pale, then Super bowl Sunday he experienced a nose bleed that would not stop.  Aplastic Anemia is  otherwise known as Bone Marrow Failure.  It affects the white blood cells, red blood cells and platlet formation in the body. This places Reece at risk for life threatening bleeding and infection.  His life is on hold as he receives his treatment at St. Christopher's hospital for children in Philadelphia, which includes multiple platlet and blood transfusions, but it is not over. Reece is a fighter! This disease is treatable and curable.  Reece remains his happy, charming self through all of this .  We have an upcoming immunosuppression procedure for Reece that will require an in-patient hospital stay and we are hopeful it will result in him being cured.  Wearing your RED shirt during all of this and posting pics on social medial Dino and I  can share with him, showing Reece you care and are cheering him on would be AWESOME!
