About this campaign

Gaia was a feral cat who had a severe injury to her head and eyelid. I trapped her and took her for surgery in the hopes of saving her eye (she could no longer close her eyelid because of the injury). This surgery allowed her to at least close her inner eyelid enough to keep her eye moistened. During her spay, I discovered that Gaia is FIV positive, so on top of her eye injury, I made the decision to try to socialize her so she could live indoors and have a chance at a long life.  I was successful, and it's a good thing because something has happened.

I recently spoke to an eye specialist about her injury and possible further treatment to reconstruct her eyelid...the doctor would like to meet her.  A consult will cost $165, and any reconstruction will likely cost thousands. I was in no rush before to get this done, but her previous surgery has just ripped loose, and her eyeball is exposed again. The time to get her in to the specialist is NOW! Please look for us at http://www.facebook.com/tamingg

Taming Gracie - Feral Cat Care is not currently a 501(c)3. I'm just a private individual caring for approximately 50 cats (rescues and ferals). Feeding, medical care, spay/neuter...all very costly for so many. Since I'm not yet a non-profit, I don't have access to grants and corporate donations. I rely 100% on help from people like yourself. I hope you'll consider purchasing a T-shirt for Gaia. She is a wonderful cat, and has had a rough life until now.

I love cats. I try to donate $50 monthly to different rescues throughout the country. Very least I can do to help the babies.

We support TNR and know all too well how costly caring for strays and ferals can be! Thank you for all you do.
